4 Essential Tips For Solving Your Wi-Fi Issues

This can be one of the most frustrating things to happen as a homeowner or business owner when your Wi-Fi suddenly does not work and everyone has experienced this problem at some point.  With Texn Rewards, we want to make sure you have the knowledge to efficiently solve this problem if it occurs.  

If the check-in process is slow after connecting to WiFi, then the check-in station is most likely out of range from your router.  This is commonly the case if you have a check-in station outdoors where it is far away from the router and even if your WiFi works fine indoors where it is closer to the router.  We have solved issues like this in the past with these four tips:

Note: Outdoor check-in stations should be a Touchscreen All-In-One computer so you have the option to hard wire an ethernet cable to the check-in station.

Tip #2: Run the ethernet cable along the ceiling or baseboards and connect the router to your check-in station.

Tip #3: If you run out of plug-ins for your router, then you can add additional ports by purchasing an Ethernet PoE+ Switch. You can plug an ethernet cable from your router to the switch to accomplish adding additional ports to your router.

Tip #4: You can also try adding a WiFi Range Extender to extend the range of your router.

If you have an IT company or “IT guy”, then that would be the best course of action for solving this problem.  We can provide technical support over the phone or via email and we will let you know if your system is down because we receive a report every day which tells us which check-in systems are not receiving check-ins.
