When Mobile Webpages Are Better Than Mobile Coupons

When Mobile Webpages Are Better Than Mobile Coupons

Mobile coupons are great for most smaller yards because you can track exactly how each coupon performed compared to other coupons and make better future decisions as to which sales to run.  However, they are not always practical in these two situations:

#1: You are expecting to be super busy during the sale

It is possible to have customers redeem mobile coupons even on super busy days, but it takes a lot more discipline.  Usually it makes more sense to create and attach a mobile webpage for the event to your text message instead of attaching a mobile coupon when super busy.  This will ensure that customers are still informed of all details without slowing down the flow of your operations.  We sacrifice the redemption rate of the mobile coupon with the mobile webpage method.  However, we can create a short URL for the mobile webpage which tracks the clickthrough rate so you at least know what percentage of customers saw the details of your sale.  We also track a lot of other information with Data Analytics so we know how total attendance was influenced by the text we sent out.

#2: Everyone who comes to the yard that day receives the sale and it is advertised at the yard

If everyone receives the discount and it is advertised at the yard, then it does not make sense for customers to pull out their phone and redeem a coupon.  Also, if only customers who show their phone get a huge discount AND you are super busy, then other customers will most likely feel alienated and like you are only showing priority to the customers who were already members of the texting program and received the text.  It is better to have blanket sales for everyone for busy yards and use the texts to drive more traffic from your existing subscriber list.

What is a Mobile Webpage?

A mobile webpage is a link we can send your customers to which is specially designed to provide all of the information which could not fit within the 160 character restriction of a text message.  We can also include logos, graphic design work, and links to different pages on your website or social media.

*Above is an example of a mobile webpage we can create for whatever event you are inviting people to. We typically include your logo, all details of the sale, and links to anything you want to highlight. The short URL created for this Mobile Webpage is https://swurl.it/C0C8T.  This webpage is mobile-optimized.
