Solving Self-Service Problems With Just In Notifications – Part 6: 7 Day Rule

When you add a vehicle pick to Just In, then you will notice that your Just In dashboard will search to see if there is any new inventory matching your pick specifications.  It may take a couple of seconds to search your inventory and you will see clockwise rotating arrows during this time. Then, an icon will appear next to each pick.  The icon will either be a green car with a check-mark or a red car with a question mark. 

A green car with a question mark means that a vehicle which matches your vehicle pick has been made available to the public within the past 7 calendar days.  If you see a green car with a checkmark when you first add your pick, then you will not receive a text the next day about it.  It is assumed that you already know about the inventory already at the yard so we do not send a text as well.  However, if a vehicle which matches your pick arrives AFTER you add the pick, then you should receive a text at 11am for your time zone on the first FULL day that your vehicle is available.  Therefore, if the vehicle is set in the yard at 3pm and you let you inventory company know that day, then a text should go out the FOLLOWING day at 11am.  If there are any issues with the texts going out, then we need to get under the hood and check out what is causing this communication discrepancy between you, your inventory company, and us.  Most likely it is a small detail and we are experienced at solving these issues for yards who use Crush, Pinnacle, and Powerlink. 

A red car with a question mark indicates that no vehicles have been added within the past 7 days which match your vehicle pick criteria.  A pick might have a green car with a checkmark next to it when you first add your pick.  However, you may check your Just In dashboard a few days later and notice that the icon is not a red car with a question mark.  This is because more than 7 days has elapsed since that vehicle was set in the yard.  To see how many days it has been since the vehicle was made available to the public, then you can click the pick on the left-hand side of your dashboard and it will tell you how many days ago it was added on the righthand side of the screen.
