Geo-Tracking For Coupon Redemptions

Geo-Tracking For Coupon Redemptions

BY PARKER MITCHELL

Do you have multiple locations and want to know which location each coupon was redeemed at?  By enabling our GPS couponing feature, then you can tell which location each coupon was redeemed at.  There are a few options for enabling this feature:

#1: GPS Enabled – Automatically select nearest location

This is for smartphone customers who have location tracking enabled on their device. This is the recommended setting because it will pick up the closest store to their device. Once customers redeem the coupon, then it will pull up the closest store and prompt them to press the redeem button for that store.

#2: GPS Enabled – Show a list of locations

If you want to give your customers the authority to pick the location, then you can pick this option. However, this leaves it up to your customer to decide and they may not always pick the correct location. The only time we recommend this setting is when you have two locations that are right next to each other and the GPS might accidentally pick up the other location. With this option, the closest store will show up first with the distance you currently are from the store. Next, will be the next closest location and so on. Your customer will be prompted to press redeem again for the location they want to redeem at.

#3: Provide a list of locations if GPS location is not available

Only smartphones with location settings enabled will work with our GPS feature.  If your customer does not have a smartphone or does not have location tracking enabled, then we can instead show a list of locations for them to choose from. This will display the same way as #2 except distance will not be calculated since GPS is not enabled. Typically, we recommend nearest location when GPS is enabled and this option when GPS is not enabled.

Coupon Redemption Log

Once geo-tracking is enabled, then you will be able to see which location each coupon was redeemed at on your coupon redemptions log. Instead of “N/A” in the Location column, it will instead say the name of the location.
