A Google Analytics Case To Be Made For Blogging Increasing Website Traffic

A Google Analytics Case To Be Made For Blogging Increasing Website Traffic

BY PARKER MITCHELL

I used to not be a believer in blogging and thought of it mostly as a waste of time. However, I decided to give it a shot this year since a lot of the salvage yard events are virtual due to the national pandemic.  I started blogging regularly on August 5th and it has been a little over 60 days since beginning.  Immediately, I have seen a spike in the number of visitors to our site since starting blogging.

We were sitting at about 150 website visitors per month before blogging and in September we had about 600 visitors to our website in our first full month of blogging or a 400% increase in website traffic. I know website traffic does not necessarily translate into more revenue right away, but it cannot be a bad thing to have 4x the traffic to your website.  Especially, if you can find a way to make conversions once people get to your website.

On top of that, 90% of the traffic has been from new visitors and only 10% is returning according to Google Analytics.  We have cookies indicating visitors from 32 states within the past 60 or so days since starting to blog.  990 total users in about 60 days and about 170 users with locations not set so they could be from any state in the United States.

I am now an advocate of blogging and believe it is a good way to communicate with your customers base and get prospects interested.

The 32 states who have visited our site since 8/5/20 when we started blogging regularly. Today is 10/7/20

About 1,000 over the first 60 days or 17 users per day. We were getting about 5 users/day before blogging so thats about a 340% increase in traffic.

This is not meant to brag about how many more visitors we have now, but rather to show everyone the results from consistently blogging. It really does work and I am willing to help you get started if this is something you want to do for your business. Email me directly at parker@texnrewards.com if you want help getting started. I can help get your Google Analytics account setup for your website free of charge! I may start charging if I get a lot of interest on this.
