Creating a Mobile Coupon

Creating a Mobile Coupon

BY PARKER MITCHELL

Creating mobile coupons is necessary for loyalty rewards, inactive offers, just in and some broadcasts. To do this, go to Mobile Tools -> Mobile Coupons -> New Mobile Coupon.

Once you select New Mobile Coupon, then you will need to name the coupon and create it. Then, you will notice it is added to the top of your coupons. To edit the coupon, select the edit pencil next to the new coupon.

You will see that the Status is now Active and the first thing you need to decide is the expiration of the coupon. You can either make it expire on a Fixed Date/Time or a certain number of days from date issued. If the coupon is for a Loyalty Reward or coupons which are constantly issued, then you will want to select a number of days from date issued. If it is a broadcast and only a one-time coupon, then you may want to have it expire at a fixed date/time. If you have Valid Until Fixed Date checked and a Set Date/Time selected, then it will override any Dynamic Expiration you may have selected also.

You will be required to add a message for Invalid/Expired Text Message. This is the message that goes out if someone tries to redeem a coupon that has already expired. Coupon description is where you add any terms and conditions that you did not include in the text message. You can copy and paste the description for the Redeem Widget Description and Kiosk Description boxes. Make sure that the HTML “

” is added below the last line on the Redeem Widget Description because this will add a nice space in between your widget description and Redeem button. Once you are done with this page, then press Update.

Then, you want to go to Coupon Redemption & Sharing only if it is a Spanish Coupon. You will see the Linked Redemption Widget defaults to the Default Widget which should be your English Widget. If it is a Spanish coupon, then you will want to change it to Spanish Widget and update.

You can preview your coupon by going to Mobile Tools -> Mobile Coupons -> edit pencil next to the Coupon Widget your mobile coupon is associated with. You should see the coupon you just created in the drop-down underneath Coupon Widget Preview. Select it and Show to see what the coupon will look like.

We will do all of the work to create and send out mobile coupons. The purpose of this post is to show you the process we go through when creating a mobile coupon so you can better understand the capabilities of the system.
